The Ekco Hawkins Hostess TE34 was launched some time between 1967 and 1977. Christine kindly sent pictures of her Hostess TE34. The date of these models is not known but must have been produced between 1967 and 1977 and manufactured at Ekco-Hawkins’ Drury Lane, Hastings address. There is no clue on either the box or the instructions as to a specific date other than a label on the box which states “NEW C.E.E. Ekco had not made teasmades before their merger with Hawkins in 1960, but in 1947 they had manufactured a clock radio, the A33 Radiotime, a very modern looking appliance compared to the Goblin Timespot of the same date, the cabinet of which was designed by the architect and designer Wells Coates. The Ekco Hostess Teamaker TM80 was launched some time between 1967 and 1977. This model in cream and brown has a stainless steel and cream kettle and teapot. It features a light, an audible alarm and auto and tea now facilities. The Hawkins name is no longer present.
